Project Highlights

Roof, Moveable Structure

The Singapore Sports Hub, completed in 2014, showcases AGC’s Fluon® ETFE Film, which covers nearly 10,000 m². Known for its flexibility, durability, and lightweight properties, the film enhances the dynamic design of the stadium’s moveable roof, providing spectators with an uninterrupted view of Singapore’s skyline while ensuring comfort against tropical weather.

Skylight

Universal Studios Singapore features AGC’s Fluon® ETFE Film, used across more than 30,000 m² of canopies and shelters. This high-performance material enables excellent light transmittance and thermal control, offering visitors a comfortable experience in all weather conditions while supporting the park’s innovative design.

Singapore Oceanarium

Facade Entrance

During its 2024 refurbishment, the Singapore Oceanarium incorporated AGC’s Fluon® ETFE Film for its facade entrance. This addition enhanced visitor comfort with improved thermal control and natural lighting while enabling an open, cost-effective design with reduced structural steel requirements.

Marina Bay Sands

Exterior Cladding (Coating on Aluminum Composite Panels)

Marina Bay Sands utilized LUMIFLON™-based coatings for its aluminum composite panels, ensuring outstanding durability and color retention. This fluoropolymer coating withstands Singapore’s harsh tropical climate and the challenges of its coastal environment. By maintaining the iconic structure’s aesthetic appeal while reducing maintenance needs, LUMIFLON™ plays a vital role in preserving this architectural masterpiece.

Nhật Tân Bridge

Coating on Steel

Nhật Tân Bridge showcases the robust performance of LUMIFLON™-based coatings, designed to protect its steel structure from corrosion and weathering. This advanced fluoropolymer coating ensures the bridge remains both structurally sound and visually striking, even in harsh environments including exposure to salt-laden air.

Singapore Oceanarium (Refurbishment)

Refurbishment by Air-Dry Coating on Steel and Aluminum Composite Panel

The Singapore Oceanarium’s refurbishment in 2024 included LUMIFLON™-based air-dry coatings on its steel structures and aluminum composite panel. These coatings provide excellent protection against marine corrosion and UV radiation, ensuring structural integrity and reduced maintenance needs.

A clear liquid, a fluorinated electrolyte polymer dispersion, is being poured from a white bottle into a glass petri dish. This represents the FORBLUE™ i-series material, which is used in automotive fuel cells.

FORBLUE™ i-SERIES

FORBLUETM i-series is a fluorinated electrolyte polymer dispersion, developed by AGC Group based on its ion-exchange membrane technology cultivated by its long experience in the chloro-alkali business. It is used for electrodes and electrolyte membranes in automotive fuel cells. AGC’s FORBLUETM i-series has achieved to improve the performance of conventional polymers, and is more durable and cost effective compared to conventional fluorinated polymers.
